I had hopes that one day, I would be able to get married to my girlfriend. However, there seems to be a stumbling block - my MBA.

Apparently she only wants to get married after I do my MBA as she is unsure of what the future would be like. She wonders about how I will fund the MBA, and how I would repay any loans. All valid wonderings.

But she does not want to get married until after my MBA as she is unsure of the future. I feel that such a view is a bit weird. After all, regardless of whether pre/post MBA, does not mean the future is secure. Anything can happen.

On the other hand, she is extremely worried about the costs involved of doing an MBA. She has been talking to her wonderful friends who have been saying that I must be very rich to be able to afford an MBA, and why can't I do a distance learning MBA. I wish her friends would skip on the comments.

I would consider doing a distance learning MBA if there was a well established school and program with the proper distance learning facilities. So in the meantime, she's on about the costs involved but only wants to get married after I do the MBA.

I wonder whether I would be willing to write her off.....

Edit (6/9/06):

After a good heart to heart, I admit that my perceptions of her were wrong. I misunderstood her concern about the costs and her commitment to me and the relationship. I apologise to her for the selfish jerk that I have been.

And no, I would not be willing to write her off....
